About me |
|
I am a retired teacher and have been teaching art and creating my own artwork for many years. During this period of time I have experimented broadly with various art media. Earlier in my career my artwork was done in oils, which I love, but after taking a class in watercolor painting I was won over to that medium. I love its fluidness and transparency. Additionally, watercolors are much easier to transport than oils. I am convinced of the importance of the fine arts for everyone. It provides an enrichment that cannot be attained by other means. It is a great activity that can be continued into old age, unlike those requiring strenuous physical effort. I was a teacher of the visual arts in public and private schools for many years. In retirement I continue to promote the arts in my community by staying active in local organizations such as, Rome Art Coterie, Rome Area Council for the Arts, Georgia Watercolor Society, Rome Area Writers, and Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
